How NOT to move your pool table.

Mar 2, 2010

Okay folks, there are good ways to move a pool table and there are bad ways to move a pool table. The best way to transport a pool table is to have it disassembled in its current location, transport the pieces, then reassembled in its new location. The only exceptions are pool tables that are constructed to be placed on their sides (coin operated tables) or in a situation where there is a large opening that the table can be dollied out as a whole. You should still consult a professional pool table mover before moving your table yourself. Even tables in these situations can be damaged if they are improperly supported.

NEVER, EVER do the following:
>> Take the legs off of a furniture style pool table with slate(s) still attached
>> Turn a pool table on its side to try and fit it through the door
>> Flip a slate pool table upside down

These things listed will only cause major headaches and cost a small fortune to fix. Call a professional billiard table mechanic to move your pool table. Do not let your contractor, flooring company or six of your closest friends try and move your pool table.
