Here’s a recent pool table moving job we performed for our client in Newport Coast, CA. The client owns a nine foot Adler custom slate pool table. He was having the carpet changed in the billiard room and needed us to safely move his tournament size billiard table. The only way to ensure that no part of your billiard table will be damaged during a move is to disassemble it. I’ve seen many beautiful pool tables get damaged by hasty clients who had allowed their flooring contractors to simply round up five or six men and try to move a fully assembled slate pool table even just a few feet away.
Even a seven foot slate pool table can weigh up to 700 pounds when fully assembled. In the case of this 9′ Adler, it probably weighed in excess of 1000 pounds. If improperly handled damage can occur to the slates, blind aprons, rails, legs and or cabinet. Most of the time we are able to save the clients’ pool table felt by carefully removing it from the slate in order to re-stretch it at the time of re-assembly. Once properly dismantled, even the largest and heaviest of pool tables can be easily and safely moved to an adjacent space in your home.
