Making Your Pool Table Fit

Sometimes You Just Have to Make It Work

We just moved this 8′ pool table into this Ladera Ranch, California home. A lot of extra time was spent leveling this import billiard table due to warped slate liners. It wasn’t easy, but finally, the slates were perfectly level.

The existing cloth was still in great shape, so we re-stretched it on the bed, saving the homeowners a little extra cash. The table ended up looking awesome. The only hiccup was that it was placed in a 12′ x 12′ room. Ideally, you should have a room that is 13’3″ x 16’10”.

Even though the pool table “fit” in the space, there was not nearly enough room to use a standard length cue. Not even enough room to use a slightly shorter cue. Most shots on this table will have to be with a 42″ or 36′ cue. (For some perspective check out our 5-year-old son next to his cue here.)

Even though it’s a tight squeeze, we made it work. And, the family gets to enjoy their pool table.
