These clients of ours from Laguna Beach, CA hired us to protect their 8′ slate pool table. The owners of this Fischer Duchess are moving to a new home. Unfortunately, they weren’t able to find a new home quickly enough. Most of their furniture, as well as the pool table, will be going into storage. The slate is a very expensive part of most high-quality pool tables and must be handled with care. Most pool table moves we handle, from disassembly, to transporting it to a new location, to reassembly. But this situation was different because the pool table will be going into the moving company’s storage facility. We custom-built three wooden crates to protect the three-piece slate. This was the only way to ensure that there would be no damage to the slates.
