Yesterday we were called out to Fullerton, CA for an emergency pool table move. Our client’s game room was flooded by an upstairs plumbing catastrophe a day earlier. This nine-foot Brunswick pool table has been around for about 45 years and has never had a bath. But yesterday that all changed, for the worse. The bathroom above sprung a leak and dowsed this poor old pool table for five hours. Fortunately for the homeowner’s sake, the pool table’s old Electric Blue felt was the only thing that really got soaked.
When we arrived things had dried up a bit, the only noticeable damage to the pool table was the discolored felt. Our job was to disassemble the pool table so that the flood restoration company could remove the old carpeting and all the damp drywall. I’m sure glad we didn’t have to go very far with the pool table slate. Each piece of slate weighed around 250 lbs. We’ll post some pics of the pool table after we go back to re-install and refelt it. I think the family is leaning towards a Burgundy felt this time around.
