Golden West Victorian Overhaul Final

Oct 15, 2010

Yesterday we finished this beautiful Golden West Victorian pool table for our client in Newport Beach, CA. This model features a cast aluminum lion’s head base. This pool table was made in Los Angeles, CA in the early 1970s. The rails had the original cushion rubber made by Raybestos-Manhattan rubber co. We replaced the cushion rubber using the best imported rubber we could find. We typically use K-66 profile on all of our recushion jobs, it’s the same material that AMF Billiards used on all the pool tables they built in their Bland, MO factory. The billiard cloth we used on this nine-foot table is made by Henry W.T. Mali Co. based in New York, NY. We exclusively use Mali’s 10820-f cloth on all of our residential recovery jobs. It’s the best cloth in the billiard industry, it rivals even that of Forstmann’s 10447 billiard cloth. The leather pockets we typically use are either Level Best or Hood Leather Goods. Both of these pocket companies use top-quality hides for their nets and uppers, once broken in these pockets typically last 25 years.
