Orange County Pool Table Installers.
One of the most common questions we get asked is “Can I install my regulation size pool table in my garage?” The answer is usually yes, as long as your home owners association says it’s ok. As far as the practicalities of installing a slate pool table in your garage relies on one important rule of thumb. The Golden Rule as I called it, dictates that as long as you have at least 48-58 inches of clear space around your pool table’s playing surface you’re good to go. This particular slate pool table we set up for our Fullerton, CA client was an 8-foot by 4-foot in a two-car garage. The way we positioned the pool table even allowed for our client’s wife to still park her car on the other side of the garage. Keeping our clients’ in marital harmony is of the utmost importance, as well as being able to school your neighbors at Nine Ball. RACK ‘EM!!

Hello-
I need advice please.
We live in Fresno, California, thinking of putting a 9 ft slate table in our garage.
Would it be a bad idea for the pool table because it gets really hot here in the summer and not so cold in the winter. I am just concerned about the wood component and the rubber and the level of the table over time.
Thanks so much!
Hello Arv in, your garage pool table will be fine as long as you can keep the temperature below 90 degrees.
You may want to mention to whomever installs your table to use something other than bee’s wax to seal the slate seams. If the temperature rises above 90 degrees I’d recommend using Durham’s water putty or the wax may soften due to the increasing temperature.
Best wishes, David
